Hypnosis can be defined as a particular altered state of selective hypersuggestibility brought in an individual by the use of a combination of fixation of attention, relaxation and suggestion.
Hypnosis can occur in the course of our everyday existence. It occurs when the attention span is heightened and suggestibility enhanced. Examples include: students learning in class, reading, training seminars and other ways we concentrate our minds to attain our desired goals.

Concentration of the mind via hypnosis can also have an enormous impact on a person's everyday life. This concentration is the first step towards mind control, without which we cannot achieve our goals. Hypnotic influence is based on the ability to reach the unconscious more deeply via hypnosis.

Prior to the induction of hypnosis, the practitioner will talk with you to get an understanding as to your mental make up, your ideas and your feelings. This helps the therapist choose appropriate method(s) for induction and prepares you for undergoing hypnosis.

The method by which I help my clients is to find out several pieces of vital information first. Among the questions I ask are:

What specifically do you want to improve in your life?
What habit do you wish to make positive changes to in our sessions?
What is your specific goal that you want to attain?
What is your favorite outside destination?

Explanation as to the nature of hypnosis in that it is a healthful and restful experience and that untold advantages of its use is then shared. You are then asked to relax, close your eyes and listen to my voice as I lead you into a deep state of trance by taking your favorite destination and weaving it into a pleasant, relaxing story as you close your eyes and concentrate upon my voice. I utilize your own words for your goal within the induction and throughout the session. I do not try to make you change in any way. I always let you know that you are 'in charge' at all times and can stop the session whenever you wish. The session(s) are for your benefit and to help you achieve your goals in a positive, happy, relaxing and meaningful way.

Hypnosis can help with habits that you wish to shed, such as smoking, overeating, nail biting, mood swings, road rage and many, many others. Hypnosis can also help you to concentrate upon a particular goal that you wish to reach. Examples include: continuing your education and making good grades, better concentration, improving relationships, stress reduction, improving your income, better communication, control of pain, and stage fright. They are as many goals as there are individuals, so each session is customized specifically for you to help you achieve yours.
